Have you came across people who purposely share poignant stories with the intention to gain your compassion so you will put up with an awful news they are about to present to you? Is it silly for us to give in knowing that they did it with an aim?
Just an idiom. Or not.
I have a feeling that someone has been using that tactic on me. Feel like being used, just because I pity people easily.
